Apartment Review
Looks decieving

My family moved here thinking this would be a great place to live and at a very affordable price. We were shown a model but were not allowed to see the apartment we would be in until after the lease was signed. Now, this is a huge giveaway that something is wrong but we were so excited we didn't pay much attention to that. When we first went in to the apartment, it was horrible. The drawers were falling apart, vinyl areas coming up, screens broken, torn, or missing, carpet stained horribly (we were told when signing the lease that carpets MUST be professionally cleaned once a year and we are responsible to pay for it). Spider infestations everywhere, although we figure it was just the time of year but they're still everywhere. Maitenence comes in your home when you're not there, with out any notice what so ever (items were moved to make it obvious. Nothing taken to our knowledge and nothing broken but still unsettling to know they just come in anytime.) Most of our neighbors are very nice (guess we were lucky compared to some of you) but there have been a couple of them (moved out, I think) that were horrible. I won't o in to it cause unfortunately you can't choose neighbors in apartments and I'm sure there are some troubles every where you go. They didn't require action from police or managers, just neighbors that make you hate where you live cause they're rude and horrible. Other than coming into apartment with out notice, I have not had any interactions with maitenence to say good or bad, only that my apartment appeared as if nothing had been done after previous tennants moved out. We even found socks (along with trash and a couple of other kids clothing items) behind the washer! Items we had problems with moving in were either fixed or attempted. The office staff is friendly when you first move in. We have had notes left on door that had absolutely nothing to do with us, they just needed someone to blame I guess. Plus, notes were left 3 days to a week after the incident, so no way to prove you hadn't done anything wrong and you look like a bad tennant. Pool rules are not enforced and when they seem like they are trying to enforce them, they turn their back before there is compliance and never follow up. I saw one little girl get thrown in (barely) and hit her head. The rules state no horseplay. I understand kids are gonna play but some of the "play" they allow is unsafe and frankly, there is only one pool and its not big enough for so much unneeded activity. The covered parking is farther away than guest parking and even if the guest parking is full and you try to park in assigned covered parking the space is not big enough to park in without hitting either a pole or another car when you open the door. Plus, there is occassionly someone parked in the space anyway. The water does not get hot. It gets warm enough to shower for the most part if you let the water run for a long time. It does not get hot enough to do dishes, forcing you to use the dishwasher. Now, thats not a bad thing but sometimes would like to do up the 3 or 4 dishes rather than fill the dishwasher and wait (sometimes 1-2 days later) until you have a full load. Extra closet space in the hallway! why do you need 2 bedroom (basically) closets in the hallway? I can see one or the other for jackets and sleeping bags or whatever you may have to put in there. We have lots of blankets (for a bed) and an actual linen closet with shelves would be nice. It is a very nice spacious apartment but didn't have room for both a couch and loveseat in the living room with out blocking either the hallway or patio door and cable out let is on opposite side of living room so the only place it would work out was kind of odd and the cord would have had to be either run across the room (and tripped over) or tacked up on wall with requires extra cable. So, instead of going on and on (this is already too long) I will just say there are good things and bad things about the complex but for me the bad out weigh the good and I would never live there again or recommend it to anyone else.
